A Return to Glory
A newly formed nonprofit, Kentucky Tennis and Pickleball Center, Inc., plans to completely refurbish the Louisville Tennis Center with a $65 million proposal.
Many years ago, tennis legends including John McEnroe and Arthur Ashe played on the courts at the Louisville Tennis Center, but those outdoor courts have fallen into disrepair.
The planned pickleball and tennis complex in Louisville's Joe Creason Park would include 36 tennis courts (12 of them indoors), 18 pickleball courts (14 of them indoors), a restaurant, kids club, and a sports medicine clinic.

While the project is slated to cost a pretty penny, it’s expected to provide a strong economic impact for Louisville. An economic impact analysis by TAG Management projects that the complex could generate $17 million annually in visitor spending, including 700,000 hotel stays, and $1 million in Kentucky sales tax revenue alone.
The Kentucky Tennis and Pickleball Center is seeking a $20 million bond from the city, which would need to be approved by the Louisville Metro Council, and the rest of the money will come from private funding.
Public meetings for the project are scheduled to be held in May, but construction would not start until 2027.
The project sounds very exciting. We just feel that the 2 to 1 ratio of tennis courts to pickleball courts should probably be flipped. 😃 Other than that, it sounds like a good idea!

It’s Go Time!
We all know that pickleball is tons of fun no matter what level you play at. But like with anything in life, you want to be the best you can be. That's why you take lessons, watch YouTube videos, drill, and play whenever you can. So if you're going to devote so much time to this amazing sport, you may as well play with the best paddle brand out there — JOOLA.
Last month, JOOLA released its newest line of paddles, the JOOLA Pro IV with TechFlex Power technology that increases dwell time, flexibility and feel. Plus, the Pro IV is Dual Certified by both UPA-A and USAP. So no more having to worry about where you can play with it because this paddle is approved and legal everywhere.
JOOLA started off by releasing the classic Perseus paddle, which is Ben Johns' paddle of choice, and it has been an absolute hit! But NOW, the Pro IV is available in the other JOOLA models that you've come to know and love, including the Scorpeus (used by Anna Bright and Collin Johns), the Magnus (used by Tyson McGuffin), and the Hyperion (used by Simone Jardim).
Also, have you ever heard of a guy named Andre Agassi? 😉 Well, JOOLA just released an Agassi model that has a sweet new shape. You can check them all out right HERE.Â
